Let Your Identity Shape Your Assignment
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)
A new week can awaken the pressure to compete or prove that you belong. Before that pressure sets your direction, remember Ephesians 2: we are saved by grace and created in Christ for good works. Grace comes before the work.
Your assignment is an opportunity to respond to God’s goodness. Bring care, courage, and excellence to your responsibilities while trusting that your worth is not decided by the loudest voice in the room.
If your identity has become tangled with a title, a platform, or someone else’s progress, pause and ask what faithfulness requires of you today. God’s workmanship is not an invitation to self-importance. It is a call to live with humility and purpose, doing the good that is before you.
Begin where you are. Keep the promise you made. Complete the task you have avoided. Serve the person you might otherwise overlook. Let obedience give shape to this Monday. You may not see the whole path, but you can take the next faithful step with strength drawn from Christ.
Walk It Out
Choose one responsibility and one act of service for today. Give both your full attention, without using another person’s progress as your measure.
Prayer
Father, thank You for Your grace and for the good work You call us to do. Release us from comparison. Give us courage to obey, humility to serve, and discipline to finish what You place before us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
